Time: Never Enough, Always Too Much

Let me paint you a picture - It's early in the morning, the house is quiet, you've sleepily made your way into the kitchen and filled the kettle to make a cup of coffee. The water takes about 2 minutes to boil, and you think "I'll quickly check to see what's happening in my world." Before you've finished the thought, your phone is in your hand, tapping, scrolling and flicking the latest photos, videos, and articles. You hear a faint beeping in the background, and keep scrolling. A video pops into your feed, you instinctually check the likes and comments to see if it's worth watching. It is and it seems short and sweet. You press play, turn on the volume, break the calm silence of the morning with the screams, laughter, and music of the latest viral video. You quietly smile as the video ends, maybe adding in your own comment or like before continuing down the feed, checking your email, messages, or other things that feel important before starting your day. When you finally feel satiated, you groggily look up and check the temperature of the previously boiled water. At best it's tepid. You reboil.
